Dr. Gary Blank is the IEEE-USA President 2014.

As a former Vice-President, he was responsible for the IEEE-USA Licensure and Registration Committee which worked closely with the NCEES. 

An American success story, Gary Blank has taught and helped thousands of engineers to become professionally registered. He has also helped thousands of professionals internationally to start and expand their consulting practices. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, at the age of 24. He has pursued parallel careers in industry and academia. He has consulted for dozens of industrial clients, and has also held full-time faculty positions at leading universities including Illinois Institute of Technology, Northern Illinois University, and Marquette University. He has also held adjunct faculty positions at U.C.L.A. and the University of Florida,  He was the founding chairman of the IEEE Consultants Network of Chicago/Rockford which includes members from 5 states. He was elected to the position of Member-at-Large on the IEEE-USA Board of Directors, 2008-9.  He was the national Chairman of the AICN (Alliance of IEEE Consulting Networks with a membership of over 5000 engineering consultants) 1999-2002, and 2008-2009. He was the IEEE-USA Vice President Member Activities for 2003 and 2004. He was the IEEE-USA Vice President, Career and Member Services, 2010-2012.
